A sculptural reimagining of the University of Pennsylvania crest. First Runner Up in the AddLab Grand Opening Design Competition. Competition requirements were the word “MEAM” (Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics) and the Penn Crest. This design takes a realistic approach to the extremely simplistic fish and books drawing of the original. Fun fact: the rather ugly fish in the Penn crest was called a “dolphin” by Ben Franklin. However the image is actually an attempt at a dolphinfish more commonly called Mahi Mahi.
