This gamma type sterling heat engine was a semester long project for my Machine Design and Manufacturing class. I personally machined all but two parts using a manual mill, manual lathe, and two-axis CNC mill. The functional design of the engine was provided, but I designed the aesthetics. At its maximum, the engine broke 1,300 RPM’s when powered by a small butane torch.
